What We Do

Structural Steel Fabrication In Perth

Custom fabrication of beams, columns, frames, brackets and steel components, built to your drawings and engineering specifications, and checked in the workshop before it goes anywhere near your site.

The Work

Fabricated To Drawing, Not To A Catalogue Size.

Structural steel is the load path of the building, so it is the one component that has to be right to the millimetre. Everything we fabricate is made for the opening, span or frame it is going into, measured on site where the structure already exists, and cut from your engineer's drawings where it doesn't.

  • Universal beams and columns
  • Portal frames and trusses
  • Mezzanine floors and platform framing
  • Lintels and beams for wall removals
  • Base plates, cleats and brackets
  • RHS, SHS, purlins and secondary steel

We can supply and fabricate, or work with steel you've already procured, whichever suits the job. Protective treatment (galvanising, primer or a paint system) is specified with the quote rather than left to assumption.

Send the drawings or a schedule and we'll confirm workshop capacity for the longest member and the heaviest single piece before anything is committed.

How It Runs

Measure, Fabricate, Check, Deliver.

  1. 1. Scope and drawings

You send the job through. We come back with questions, not silence: connection details, finish, and what else is landing on site at the same time.

  2. 2. Site measure

Free on-site measure where there is existing structure to work to, so the steel fits first time instead of coming back for rework.

  3. 3. Written quote and program

A description of works and a realistic fabrication timeframe, so you can book the crane and the trades either side of us.

  4. 4. Workshop fabrication

Cut, drilled, welded and assembled to drawing in controlled workshop conditions, to correct tolerances, and checked before it leaves.

  5. 5. Finish and delivery

Prepared or finished as specified, then delivered to site for the agreed date, or straight into our own install.

  6. 6. Installation, if you want it

The same crew that fabricated it can erect it, see on-site steel installation, so there is no gap between the shop and the site for your program to fall into.

That is the fabrication-specific version of the same steps we run on every job. See the full process, first call to final bolt.

Your Side Of It

What We Need From You.

None of this has to be complete before you enquire. It is the list we will work through with you, so you can see what a fabrication quote is actually built on.

  • Drawings or a description

Engineering drawings and a steel schedule are ideal. Without them we quote from a site measure and tell you what engineering sign-off your job will need.

  • Site access

How the finished steel gets to where it has to sit: gate widths, rear access, upper floors, overhead services, and where a truck or crane can stand.

  • Program dates

The date the steel is needed on site and what is booked around it. We'll say upfront if we can't hit it.

  • Steel supply

Tell us whether we are supplying the steel or fabricating from material you have already procured. Both are fine; it changes the quote.

  • Finish and connections

Galvanised, primed, painted or bare, and whether connections are bolted or site-welded. If the drawings don't say, we'll ask.

  • Paperwork you need back

We are fully insured and licensed. Insurance certificates and welding documentation are available on request.

Who It's For

Who This Suits.

Builders and site managers

You need the steel on the date you were promised it, with connections that match the drawings, so the trades behind you aren't standing around.

Developers and owners

One contractor accountable for the measure, the fabrication and the install, not three, with the gaps between them as your problem.

Homeowners and renovators

A single beam for a wall removal is as welcome as a full frame. See residential steelwork for how a home job runs.

Fabrication we've done

We fabricate for sites across Western Australia. see the areas we cover.

Where

Structural Steel Fabrication Across Perth And WA

Steel Point Engineering fabricates structural steel in one Perth workshop and installs it with the same crew. Most of the beams, columns and frames we make go into metro jobs, and the rest travel out to regional WA and mine sites. Nothing is subcontracted out between the shop and the site.

Questions

Straight Answers.

Can you fabricate from my engineer's drawings?

Yes. Engineering drawings and a steel schedule are ideal, and we fabricate to them. Without drawings we quote from a site measure and tell you what engineering sign-off your job will need.

Can you fabricate from steel I have already bought?

Yes. We can supply and fabricate, or work from material you have already procured. Tell us which at enquiry, because it changes the quote.

What finish does fabricated steel come in?

Galvanised, primed, painted or bare. Protective treatment is specified with the quote rather than left to assumption, because it affects how the steel is detailed and drilled.

How long a member can you fabricate?

Send the drawings or a schedule and we'll confirm workshop capacity for the longest member and the heaviest single piece before anything is committed.

Do you install the steel you fabricate?

Yes, if you want it. The same crew that fabricated it can erect it, so there is no gap between the shop and the site for your program to fall into.

Next Step
